About the Role:
The Field Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operational leadership and execution of field activities within an assigned geographic area. This role oversees OSP and ISP construction, fiber splicing, technical operations, and customer implementations while partnering across departments to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality service.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as the primary operational leader for the assigned territory, balancing customer commitments, employee development, and business priorities.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for field personnel within the assigned geographic area.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members while promoting a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee OSP and ISP construction activities from planning through completion and customer turn-up. • Direct and coordinate fiber splicing operations to meet project schedules, quality standards, and customer commitments.
- Oversee the technical aspects of customer installations, activations, migrations, and service-related work.
- Work closely with Sales, Service Delivery, Engineering, the NOC, and other departments to support customer expectations, project timelines, and MRR objectives.
- Coordinate and prioritize internal and contractor resources based on workload, customer needs, and business priorities.
- Monitor project progress, construction status, departmental handoffs, and operational documentation.
- Assist with permitting, utility coordination, Statements of Work, and project planning as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and support to employees and contractors regarding network standards, construction practices, installations, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with company safety, quality, documentation, and operational standards.
- Perform quality-control reviews and help resolve escalated construction, installation, or customer-impacting issues.
- Monitor contractor performance, adherence to scope of work, workmanship, and project expectations.
- Maintain accurate operational records and project updates in Salesforce and other company systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, communication, departmental handoffs, and the overall customer experience.
- Support emergency restoration efforts and after-hours operational needs as required. • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Do You Have:
- Minimum of two years of relevant telecommunications, construction, technical operations, or leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of fiber-optic plant design, construction, splicing, installation, or service delivery.
- Familiarity with QA/QC practices for fiber deployment and customer installations.
- Ability to manage personnel, contractors, priorities, and multiple active projects.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work across departments and build productive working relationships.
- Ability to travel within the assigned geographic area and work outside normal business hours when operationally necessary.
